Editorial policy
Northern Garden Guide aims to make gardening information clear, useful and honest about its limits. Articles should help readers understand a choice, not promise a perfect result.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against suitable information before publication, explain terms where they first matter and keep instructions proportionate to the task. Gardening depends on local conditions, so we avoid presenting one method as universal. If an article is uncertain or its context matters, that limitation should be stated plainly.
Independence and labels
Editorial decisions are kept separate from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and commercial material is not presented as an editorial recommendation.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, verifiable concerns and correct material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers. A correction should identify what was wrong and provide the accurate information without obscuring the original issue.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence of a plant, product or garden condition, and we aim not to use them in a way that could mislead readers about what they are seeing.
A garden gets easier to understand when you pay attention.
Look first at what is already there: light, soil, water and the plants that return. Then make one considered change at a time.
