Write for us
We welcome pitches that help home gardeners make sense of a real choice in their own plots. Send proposals through the Contact page; an idea is not a promise of publication.
What we welcome
Useful proposals include clear explanations of garden planning, plant selection, soil, water and seasonal care. We are interested in pieces that teach readers what to notice, compare genuine options or explain why a common method works as it does. Keep the scope focused enough to serve one reader question well.
A good pitch
Tell us the working subject, the question the piece will answer, its main practical takeaway and why it suits Northern Garden Guide. Include a brief outline and note any relevant sources or limits. Avoid claims of guaranteed results, unsupported expertise, promotional copy and subjects that require hazardous work or local-rule interpretation.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send a pitch. Please include enough detail to assess the idea, but do not send private information or material you do not have permission to share. We cannot promise a response time or publication.
A garden gets easier to understand when you pay attention.
Look first at what is already there: light, soil, water and the plants that return. Then make one considered change at a time.
